Ttek Accountants LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of our clients’ personal and financial information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights with respect to that information.

In the course of providing accounting, tax, bookkeeping, and advisory services, we may collect nonpublic personal information, including but not limited to:

  • Identifying information (e.g. ID numbers)  
  • Financial, accounting and tax records
  • Account access details necessary to perform services
  • Information about dependents or household members
  • Banking information
  • Residency details
  • Contact information such as name, address, phone number, and email address


We collect this information directly from you, from documents you provide, and from third parties you authorize (such as financial institutions, payroll providers, or custodians).


2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information only as necessary to provide professional services, including:

  • Preparing U.S. tax returns and filings and related schedules

We do not sell personal information.

  • Service Providers, Software Platforms & Subcontractors:  We utilize authorized service providers, software platforms and subcontractors solely to perform services on our clients behalf and manage our operations.  These providers are given access only to information necessary to perform their functions are subject to confidentiality provisions and safeguards reasonably designed to protect the confidentiality of such information.  We also maintain appropriate administrative, physical, and technical safeguards when using these providers. 
  • Legal and Regulatory Requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, regulation, court order, or governmental authority.
  • With Your Authorization: We may share information with third parties you authorize, such as lenders, advisors, or other professionals.


4. Data Storage, Communication, and Security

We store client and process information using systems and service providers authorized for use.   We may communicate with you and store information using secure or encrypted email and cloud systems. We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure, consistent with applicable legal and professional standards.   When you provide us with your information, you acknowledge that while we employ reasonable safeguards, no system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. 


5. Data Retention

We retain client information for as long as necessary to provide services, comply with legal, regulatory, and professional requirements, resolve disputes and enforce agreements.   When personal information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or destroy it in accordance with applicable data retention policies.   In certain circumstances, information may reside in systems or records maintained by our third party service providers or that are governed by independent legal retention requirements. To the extent we do not have direct access to or control over such information, retention and deletion may be subject to those third parties’ policies or applicable law..  Where personal information is within our custody or control and no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or destroy it.


6. Data Security Incidents

In the event of a data security incident involving personal information, we will comply with applicable notification and reporting requirements and take reasonable steps to address and mitigate the incident, consistent with law and professional obligations.  Incident notification obligations are determined based on the nature of the incident, the type of information involved, and applicable legal requirements.


7. Client Location and International Services

Ttek Accountants LLC is a United States-based professional services firm. We may provide services to individuals who are not residents or citizens of the United States, including the preparation of U.S. tax returns for non-resident aliens.  All services are governed by United States law, and our privacy practices are designed to comply with applicable U.S. legal, regulatory, and professional obligations.


8. International Data Considerations

If you are not a resident of the United States, your personal information may be transferred to, stored in, or accessed from the United States in order to provide services. Our systems and service providers are primarily located in the United States.   By engaging our services, you acknowledge that your information will be processed in the United States, which may have data protection laws that differ from those of your country of residence.


9. European Union Data Protection Laws (GDPR Clarification)

Ttek Accountants LLC is a United States-based professional services firm. We do not maintain offices in the European Union, do not target or market our services to individuals located in the European Union, and do not engage in the sale of personal data or targeted advertising.  Our data processing activities are governed by United States law, including federal tax laws and professional regulations applicable to U.S. accounting firms. Accordingly, the General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) does not generally apply to our services or data processing activities.  Where personal information is processed in connection with U.S. tax and accounting services, such processing is performed as required or permitted under U.S. law and professional standards, including applicable record-retention obligations.


10. California Privacy Rights (California Residents Only)

California law provides residents with certain rights regarding their personal information, which may include the right to:

  • Know what personal information is collected
  • Access personal information
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Request deletion of personal information, subject to legal and professional exceptions
  • Limit the use or disclosure of sensitive personal information
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising privacy rights


We do not sell personal information.  

We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.


Certain personal information we collect is subject to exemptions under California law because it is regulated by other laws, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), federal and state tax laws, and professional record-retention requirements.   


California residents may submit a privacy request by contacting us at info@ttekaccountants.com.  We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request.


11. Your Rights and Choices

You may:  Request reasonable access to your personal information, request correction of inaccurate information or ask questions about  how your information is handled.  Certain information may be retained or used despite a request where required or permitted by law, regulation, or professional standards.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on our website with a revised effective date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
